If you attempt and fail to log in three times, you will be temporarily locked out of your account. Wait 20 minutes before you try again. Too many failures will require a password reset.
Troubleshooting:
- Double check your log in information. It is the same user name and password you use to log into Blackboard.
- When logging into OpenAthens, use only the username portion of your email address (everything to the left of the @ symbol). Example: for a user with the email address l.b.brooks1938@spartans.nsu.edu, the username would be l.b.brooks1938.
- Don't rely on an auto-populated, saved password, it may be out of date. Type your password in.
- Try a different browser and make sure your browser is up-to-date.
- Clear your browser cache, cookies, and history:
- Double check for any pop-up blockers or firewalls that might be interfering with access.
- Try restarting your computer.
- If your account becomes locked due to too many failed login attempts, you will need to contact the Office of Information Technology to reset your account:
