  • Double check your log in information. When logging into OpenAthens, use only the username portion of your email address (everything to the left of the @ symbol). Example: for a user with the email address l.b.brooks1938@spartans.nsu.edu, the username would be l.b.brooks1938.
  • Try a different browser and make sure your browser is up-to-date.
  • Clear your browser cache, cookies, and history:
  • Double check for any pop-up blockers or firewalls that might be interfering with access.
  • Try restarting your computer.
  • If your account becomes locked due to too many failed login attempts, you will need to contact the Office of Information Technology to reset your account:
